Ukraine Aid Berlin has provided needy families in the Kherson region of southern Ukraine with generators. This aid shipment includes seven 3-kilowatt gasoline generators and one larger 8.5-kilowatt diesel generator.
The generators were given to families with children, the elderly, and people with disabilities. This will allow the energy needs of 24 households in Solota Balka and 18 households in Inzhenerne to be met. Both towns were occupied by Russia until November 2022. Today, only the Dnieper River separates them from Russia's invading army, which continues to shell the Kherson region.
With our aid project for Kherson, we support people whose homes have been destroyed or severely damaged. This includes refugees from the occupied territories and people who lost their homes in the dam disaster. More than 60 settlements were affected when Russia detonated the Kakhovka Dam on June 6, 2023. Approximately 7,000 houses were damaged or destroyed.
