Doing good with music: The Ukrainian children's music group "Veselka" held a benefit concert on July 11th at the Mehringdamm Family Center in Berlin under the motto "From Heart to Heart." The goal was to raise funds for needy children in Ukraine – a total of almost 1,000 euros was raised.
With the money, Ukraine-Hilfe Berlin supported a holiday camp for 120 children from July 14 to 18 in the Kirovohrad region. Many of the children come from difficult social backgrounds, are in foster families, or are internally displaced persons. The children enjoyed five days full of workshops, sports, and community. Snacks, drinks, hot meals, and small gifts were available – a taste of childhood amidst the everyday life of war.
Three more deliveries have also arrived in Ukraine as part of our humanitarian aid. We handed over 130 walking aids to our partner organization Initiative E+ in Kyiv.
In addition, a delivery of five boxes of detergent and hygiene products reached the nursing home in Tuchyn near Rivne. We also sent the facility drawing materials to bring some color and creativity to the residents' everyday lives.
We were also able to help young patients at a hospital in Kyiv with emergency backpacks and arts and crafts materials. The backpacks contain everything the children need when they seek refuge in shelters from Russian airstrikes.
Ukraine-Hilfe Berlin thanks all those involved in the concert as well as the donors for their continued support and solidarity.
