Thanks to our donors, we were able to deliver a large shipment of vital epilepsy medication to St. Nicholas Hospital in Lviv. The destruction of medical supplies by Russian attacks has created a critical shortage in many parts of Ukraine. The situation is particularly dire for people with epilepsy: without daily medication, they face the risk of severe seizures and life-threatening consequences.

In March, we delivered a total of 1,145 units of antiepileptic drugs directly to the team led by neurologist Dr. Olha Tychkivska. This quantity will allow approximately 400 patients to continue their treatment stably for the next two months.

The majority of the aid benefits children and young people. Approximately 10 percent of the shipment went to the neighboring adult hospital to treat soldiers with post-traumatic epilepsy following head injuries.

As Ukraine Aid Berlin, we support doctors entirely on a voluntary basis. Our direct contact with St. Nikolaus Hospital allows us to know precisely which medications are needed. Thanks to our long-standing partnership with the hospital supplier antares-apotheke Pharma Service in Hamburg, we receive favorable prices, and our logistics ensure safe transport to the hospital.

This shipment serves as a vital bridge until supply chains in Ukraine are restored. Every donation helps, to maintain treatment and save lives.
