Last week, Ukraine Aid Berlin delivered eleven large diesel generators, worth a total of €140,000, to Ukraine. They ensure the power supply for the First Medical Union in Lviv and the Emergency Medical Center in Kyiv. With sub-zero temperatures and constant Russian attacks on the power supply, these generators are vital: heating, water supply, and medical equipment only function with electricity.
Children are also suffering from the war: In the border region of Sumy, students have to learn in air-raid shelters because the school building is no longer safe. Several classes are housed in a single room there. Thanks to the 33 laptops and headphones we delivered, the children can now learn more effectively. We also want to help other children with more laptops. Many have to attend classes from home because of Russia's war.
In our Berlin benefit gallery, we made a cultural statement on February 17th. In the presence of Ukrainian Ambassador Oleksii Makeiev, his Swedish counterpart Veronika Wand-Danielsson, and director Evgeny Afineevsky, we screened the moving documentary 'Children in the Fire'. Ambassador Makeiev called the documentary "a thought-provoking film" and urged viewers not to waver in their support for war-torn Ukraine. The exhibition will continue until the end of February. Benefit Gallery to see the paintings of Ukrainian children.
We thank all our volunteers and donors for their continued support of our work. Without their commitment, generators, laptops, and other aid supplies could not reach the people in Ukraine who urgently need them.
