Medical assistance with bone implants

,

Our project for seriously injured and wounded people in Ukraine continues. We were recently able to support these three patients:

  • A 33-year-old man was seriously injured in an explosion. He received a custom-made 3D skull plate, which doctors successfully implanted. He is recovering well after the surgery.
  • Surgeons were even able to implant a custom-made titanium plate in a severely injured 40-year-old. The skull defect is closed with the bone substitute, and the patient has the prospect of a completely normal life.
  • In October 2023, a 26-year-old soldier suffered a gunshot wound to the head. He has now undergone successful surgery. His recovery is progressing promisingly, and he has a good chance of a full recovery.

By purchasing medical-grade titanium powder for 3D printing the implants, we are supporting Ukrainian engineers. They use this powder to produce individual bone replacements on a voluntary basis, working closely with the treating surgeons.

Many Ukrainian soldiers are seriously injured defending their country and their fellow citizens against Russia's criminal invading army. Every month, we help up to six seriously injured soldiers with implants. The cost is approximately €500 per patient. Your donation will enable these brave people to recover quickly and live a life free from pain.
