Power outages are causing extreme problems for the people of Ukraine: Russia is deliberately destroying the energy infrastructure, leaving millions in dire need. Because power and heating outages are commonplace, we are bringing light and warmth back with aid supplies.
To help the many people affected, Ukraine Aid Berlin is supplying generators and energy storage units. The electricity powers heated tents, providing shelter from the cold and hot meals. Our emergency generators also assist rescue workers and displaced families. We have already delivered over 350 vital generators.
Electricity for hospitals
Medical facilities are also not spared from Russian attacks. Ukraine Aid Berlin has provided high-performance generators to several hospitals and children's clinics. These ensure the power supply to operating rooms, intensive care units, and other critical areas, so that lives can be saved even under extreme conditions.
Help with tin candles
In another project, we are enabling the production of thousands of tin candles with the raw materials we provide. These candles offer light and warmth to defenders and civilians who often have to endure life in destroyed homes. Volunteers from Kyiv make the candles and deliver them directly to those in need. During the cold and dark winter months, they are the only source of warmth for many – and therefore lifesaving.
