On today’s day of insights and outlooks, Bundestag President Bärbel Bas received Ukraine-Hilfe Berlin in the German Bundestag.

In her speech, she emphasized the absolute necessity of voluntary work for the functioning and solidarity of societies. The President of the Bundestag thanked Ukraine-Hilfe Berlin for its important contribution in supporting the people of Ukraine and saving lives. Ukraine, which has been under attack since February 24, 2022, is also selflessly defending Germany's freedom.

Oleg Motus, Chairman of Ukraine Hilfe Berlin, reported on important aid projects that the association has initiated since 2014, especially in the medical field, to support the people in the war-torn country. In 2022 alone, over five million euros in donations were collected and delivered directly as aid in the form of medical backpacks, power generators and first aid kits. He thanked the vast majority of the democratic parties in the Bundestag and the people of Germany for their extraordinary solidarity and support.

The President of the Bundestag is Germany's second-highest representative in terms of protocol. On the German Bundestag's Insights and Outlook Day, citizens can gain an impression of the work of the parliament and exchange ideas directly with the members of parliament.
