Hope for Ukrainian Kids

According to the United Nations, Russia has killed at least 600 children and injured more than 1,300 in Ukraine. We are helping the smallest victims of the war with emergency backpacks for air strikes and procuring vital medicines for a rare childhood disease.

Rare children's disease

Iryna Hladun lives with her son Matviy in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv. Here, too, people are killed and injured by Russian cruise missiles. But that is not Iryna's biggest concern, because Matviy suffers from tuberous sclerosis. This rare hereditary disease causes fibrous skin changes, organ tumors and epileptic seizures.

Medicines for children

In Ukraine, 57 children suffer from the hereditary disease. Iryna knows this well because she founded a self-help group in 2016. All young patients need Sabril. The only effective drug currently available can prevent seizures and irreversible damage, such as severe mental, speech and motor development disorders. But Sabril is rare and expensive.

Help with medicine and more

We procure the medicine and are supported by BILD helps eV “A Heart for Children” The organization finances a sufficient amount of Sabril to provide for all 57 children for a year. We ensure delivery to the families through our partner organizations in Ukraine. Hygiene items, balance bikes and wheelchairs are also urgently needed. You can support the children with a donation.

Staying in the bunker

In war, it is not just the supply of vital medicines that is uncertain, schools are also not safe: children often have to wait for hours in air raid shelters when Russian missiles are approaching. We supply emergency backpacks to help them survive this terror. Each backpack contains a bottle, a lunch box, biscuits, wet wipes, toys and more.

Emergency backpacks for school children

The project is supported by International Club of Scoundrels, dem Rotary Club Kyiv-Capital as well as schools and support groups in Germany. If your school also wants to help Ukrainian children with emergency backpacks, Please feel free to send us an emailHundreds of backpacks have already been delivered, but the need is huge. We are continuing to collect donations so that more school beginners can receive an emergency backpack.
