Russia's war against Ukraine has left many wounded with severe bone injuries that can hardly be treated with conventional methods. In Dnipro, Ukrainian engineers and surgeons are therefore relying on modern technology: using 3D modeling and special titanium powder, they are producing precisely fitting implants that exactly replace shattered bones.
Thanks to donations, we were able to finance four more custom-made titanium implants, enabling those affected to return to a normal life:
- Yurii (44) Before the war, he worked in a dairy. In heavily contested Pokrovsk, he suffered a head injury. The operation was successful: A custom-fitted plate now replaces part of his skull. Yurii is pain-free and on the road to recovery.
- Serhii (29) Despite having a university degree, he was a long-haul truck driver before the war. That summer, he suffered severe shrapnel wounds to his face. The team developed a unique jaw-facial implant for the young man, which completely reconstructed his facial structure. Today he is doing well and making steady progress after the successful procedure.
- MaksymHe lost large parts of his skull bones in a massive explosion. Because he is currently unable to speak, his mother, Marharyta, is by his side. The titanium implant reconstructs his natural head shape and makes the planned surgery to restore his sight possible.
- Ruslan (54) He suffered a severe traumatic brain injury that left a wound almost the size of a hand on his skull. The custom-made titanium implant will now precisely close this sensitive area – a good foundation for his further recovery.
Would you also like to help the seriously injured and wounded? Here you can support further operations with a donation. We sincerely thank all donors for providing concrete support to these people with their help.
