We have provided 300 emergency backpacks for schools in Chernihiv and Poltava. They contain the essentials that children will need when they seek refuge in bomb shelters from Russian attacks. Each backpack contains a water bottle, lunch box, cookies, wet wipes, toys and more.
Many thanks to the Mariano Josephinum High School in Hildesheim and the Rotary Club Kyjiw-Capital for their support. The need for these backpacks far exceeds our means. So that we can supply more schools, we continue to collect donations for our aid project.
According to counts by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Russia's campaign of extermination has so far claimed more than 23,000 lives among the Ukrainian civilian population, including 1,500 children.
