As part of a multi-week aid operation, Ukraine-Hilfe Berlin has delivered another 23 emergency vehicles to eastern and southern Ukraine. These include six vans and one ambulance. The vehicles will assist paramedics in evacuating seriously wounded soldiers and civilians in the conflict-ridden regions of Sumy, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson.
These deliveries were made possible by a fundraising campaign by video blogger Torsten Heinrich. With his fifth collection for Ukraine Aid Berlin, he once again called on his viewers to donate at the turn of the year. This time, a total of almost €92,000 was raised. Ukraine Aid Berlin also received active support in implementing the campaign from numerous volunteers, as well as from the E+ initiative, the Berlin Customs Agency, LK Trans, and Olimptrans.
These vehicle acquisitions are our response to the ongoing emergency caused by Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine. In addition to ambulances and fire trucks, evacuation vehicles are essential for saving lives. These all-terrain pickups quickly transport the injured and wounded out of the danger zone and are deployed wherever conventional ambulances can no longer access.
With the vehicles recently delivered, the number of emergency vehicles we provide rises to over 200. However, because Russia is ruthlessly pursuing its campaign of annihilation against the people of Ukraine, the need remains high. With a donation You can make an important contribution – also to our projects for rescue vehicles on Betterplace.
