As part of a multi-week relief effort, Ukraine-Hilfe Berlin has delivered an additional 23 rescue vehicles to eastern and southern Ukraine. These include six vans and an ambulance. The vehicles are helping paramedics evacuate seriously wounded soldiers and civilians in the embattled regions of Sumy, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson.
These deliveries were made possible by a fundraising campaign by video blogger Torsten Heinrich. With his fifth collection in support of Ukraine-Hilfe Berlin, he once again called on his viewers to donate at the turn of the year. A total of almost 92,000 euros was raised this time. Ukraine-Hilfe Berlin also received active support in the implementation of the project from numerous volunteers, as well as from the E+ initiative, the Berlin Customs Agency, LK Trans, and Olimptrans.
With these vehicle purchases, we are responding to the ongoing emergency caused by Russia's major invasion of Ukraine. Along with ambulances and fire engines, evacuation vehicles are essential for saving lives. These off-road pickup trucks quickly transport injured and wounded people out of danger and are deployed wherever conventional ambulances can no longer reach.
With the currently delivered vehicles, the number of emergency vehicles we provide rises to over 200. However, because Russia is ruthlessly pursuing its campaign of annihilation against the people of Ukraine, the need remains high. With a donation You can make an important contribution – also in our projects for rescue vehicles on Betterplace.
