Ukraine Aid Berlin supports the treatment of severely wounded Ukrainian soldiers with special implants made of titanium alloys. Five soldiers were successfully operated on using these implants in February 2024. All had suffered severe head injuries. Their skull bones were so badly damaged that the natural shape of their heads could only be restored with the help of an implant.
In this aid project, we are funding the procurement of a special titanium powder needed for 3D printing the implants. Ukrainian engineers are using this powder to produce the bone substitutes on a voluntary basis, in consultation with the treating surgeons. This allows for the creation of highly customized implants for all types of bone.
Many soldiers defended the freedom of Ukraine and their fellow citizens, but paid a high price for it. We help up to six seriously wounded soldiers each month with jaw, joint, and skull implants. A 3D bone replacement costs an average of 500 euros. This enables a patient to recover quickly and live a dignified life without pain.
Help a seriously wounded person now with a donation for a life-changing implant.
