Firefighters on their way to Ukraine

With the handover of two fire engines, Ukraine Aid Berlin was able to complete an important fundraising campaign today. We handed over the used vehicles in Berlin to firefighters from Nikopol in southern Ukraine.

For months, the city has been under attack by Russia's invading army. Two fire engines we supplied were recently destroyed in the attack. These criminal double-tap attacks are systematic: first, the invaders attack civilians, then they use their drones to ambush the approaching aid workers.

We were able to provide the two replacement vehicles thanks to a fundraising campaign by the video blogger. Torsten Heinrich They will acquire them. On site, the fire departments will be equipped with proven jammers from the Ukrainian manufacturer. Unwave equipped with devices that we are also financing from the collection. These devices are intended to protect the fire engines and their brave crews from insidious drone attacks in the future.

Extensive firefighting equipment is also en route to Ukraine with the vehicles – provided by Björn and Torben Brinkmann and their colleagues from the German Red Cross in Vehrte. We received tremendous help in acquiring a fire engine and a further equipment donation from Maryna Schiefer.
Our special thanks go to Torsten Heinrich and the more than 1,100 donors who made this important aid delivery possible.

We also received further support from the Rulle Fire Department as well as the company Firefighting technology Berlin, who provided us with high-quality vehicles at fair prices. We also thank the Berlin Customs Agency for their ongoing customs-related support.
