Fire truck for lifesavers in Nikopol

The fire department in Nikopol has received urgently needed reinforcements: We have procured another fire engine and handed it over to Ukrainian rescue workers. The city of Nikopol in southern Ukraine is under daily attack, and Russian drones are even deliberately targeting fire trucks.

The aid operation was made possible by a generous donation from the Doepner family of Düsseldorf, who financed the purchase of the vehicle. We also received support again from the Berlin Customs Agency, which organized all the export formalities.

Since the start of the Russian invasion, Ukraine Aid Berlin has been able to deliver 188 used ambulances – including 10 fire engines. In many parts of Ukraine, aid workers' vehicles are outdated or are destroyed in cowardly attacks. To continue providing assistance, we are collecting donations for urgently needed emergency vehicles.
